altidore will do well out there, bradley wright phillips is the current best striker in mls! you would thikn that defoe has more chance of scoring that altidore, he always looked poor. but still a big outlay over 4 seasons.

With the lack of opportunities they create, I doubt he will.

You've forgotten what Quinn said about West Ham's transfer spending a few seasons back already?
I would have expected most West Ham fans to have known what I was referring to.

They cant pay him that if they go down, He wont go because he wont get that salary anywhere so they'll be stuck with an aging striker

He is better than what they have and I am sure will score Premiership goals still. Fair play to him though for playing on their desperation and getting a contract that has him on good money til he is 36.

I wonder if their is a clause about relegation. If they go down they are stuck with him, no one will pay him that money except probably Rodgersl clutching at straws

So that's Vaz Te and Zarate off the wage bill. So all's left now is Cole and Reid at the end of the season.

Defoe guarantees goals. Great signing for them for the next 1.5 seasons he keeps them up Poyet will have some breathing space. Two seasons = circa 150 million revenue?
